About Us
Noisy Brewing Co is a small, family operated brewery run by Chris, Sarah & Juniper Noye.
Founded in 2018 in our kitchen, we quickly upgraded to our not-so-shiny garage. By 2019 the novelty of not-so-shiny wore off, so we upgraded once more and opened our first off-license on McNab St, Kaikorai Valley. Covid was pretty crazy, but thankfully our customers were dedicated beer drinkers, and being classed as "essential" we made it through some scary times. We loaded up our car with riggers and our newborn daughter and spent our days plotting deliveries around town.
McNab Street was pretty cool and we met some of our awesome regulars, but there was only so much capacity, and when Anzac Ave came along in 2022, all prior declarations of "we'll never, EVER open a bar" went out the window.
Somehow, our little whānau with some great help managed to pull off what we think is a pretty decent little taproom. With 12 taps, Chris is in his happy place, crafting an ever-changing lineup of a really beaut' range of beers, and being his wife I might be biased, but heck I think they're good. We've always had a firm belief that a beer should taste like what it says on the box, and on that note - full of flavour, so we brew accordingly. Nothing goes on tap that we aren't stoked with, and no beer is made without so much heart and hard work. There's a tonne we still want to do and many ideas in the pipeline, so we're pretty keen for everyone to stick around for the ride.

Noisy Brewing Co. is a boutique brewing company making waves in the Dunedin beer scene. Small and nimble, with an experimental and innovative output by owner Chris Noye, who loves nothing more than concocting a new brew.
Noisy’s inception started at the end of 2017, after owner Chris and his partner Sarah threw caution to the wind and quit their jobs to take a year off. To do what? They weren’t sure. Starting out as novice homebrewers playing around in the kitchen, the fledgling idea for Noisy was born after a mere 4 months.
There’s no core range of beers here, instead they choose to make a plethora of bold flavoursome brews, from porters to sours, pilsners to pale ales - the mantra is diversification. And as the craft beer market shifts and moves in a bid to cater to its fans, Noisy’s ethos certainly seems in sync with the ever-changing landscape, sometimes remaking a popular drop but not always, keeping everyone on their toes.
Their shapeshifting line-up of beers have garnered Noisy a loyal following in Dunedin. Customers can have a chat with Chris, grab a pint, sample new drops and pick up a selection of ales to take home. You’ll also see their beers adorning taps at hospitality places across the city, including Carey’s Bay Hotel, Ombrellos, Eureka and Sessions Bar.
Chris recently made an Imperial Stout which is now aging in whiskey barrels for a year. For him it’s about the long burn. We certainly hope Noisy Brewing Co. is a long burn too.
